Busy Weekend Ahead for Claremorris Colts

The weekend of 12/13th February promises to be very busy for Claremorris Colts with the club hosting a mini rugby blitz on Saturday morning, the u15’s playing the first round of the Connacht cup on Saturday afternoon and a number of players and officials travelling to Dublin to cheer on Ireland in the 6 nations on Sunday afternoon.

Claremorris Colts are hosting a mini rugby blitz on Saturday 12th February with teams travelling from Ballaghdereen, Ballinrobe and Ballyhaunis to participate. Colts are hoping it will be third time lucky this weekend as the two home blitz’s which were scheduled to date in 2011 were both cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. Kick-off on Saturday morning will be at 10.30AM and the blitz is scheduled to finish at 12.00. Parents and other well-wishers are all invited along to watch the future rugby stars of Claremorris Colts do us proud on the field. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available on the day.

Later at 2PM the Claremorris Colts Under 15 team will make their long anticipated debut in the Connacht Cup when they play Ballaghdereen in the first round at Ballyhaunis Rugby Club. After finishing second behind Dunmore in the league, the U15 squad are determined to put on a good show in the cup and have been training hard over the last couple of weeks for this game. All in the club wish the U15’s the best of luck on Saturday and that all the recent hard work is rewarded with victory over our neighbours.

Best of luck to Ireland in the 6 Nations Championship vs. France on Sunday 13th February and to those from the Colts who are travelling to the game – enjoy the day and safe journey there and back home.
