The Claremorris Colts under 13 team travel to Dublin this weekend (12th/13th May) to participate in the inaugural European Youth Rugby Festival hosted by Terenure College RFC. Twenty teams have been invited to this competition and Claremorris will be representing Connacht alongside our neighbours Westport RFC.
All four Irish provinces will be represented at the tournament, while clubs from England, Scotland and France will also travel for the festival. The tournament will be played in a two-day format with a league format featuring four teams in five pools giving each team three games. A total of 30 games will be played on the four full-size pitches on the Saturday. The Sunday will alter to a knockout format for Cup and Plate competitions, based on performances the day before.
We will be car pooling to Dublin and staying overnight in a local hostel. We are meeting in the Local car park at 6.45am on Saturday morning to be on the road by 7.00am. We hope to return at approx 6pm on Sunday evening. We ask as many people to try and come along for what should be an excellent weekend of rugby.
