Claremorris Colts Back In Action

After a hectic few weeks off the pitch, the Colts’ are kick starting their season this weekend.

Youth Rugby – Begins this weekend Saturday 3rd on our new pitch Colts park. Training commence from 11.30am to 12.30pm every Saturday morning for Under 13’s, 14’s,15’s and 16’s on our new pitch behind Delta DeCare/Soccer grounds.

Colts Open Day– Claremorris Colts RFC will hold an open training day Saturday, September 10th, for mini rugby players at Colts Park (behind Delta DeCare/Soccer grounds) at 10am. Those interested in trying out rugby on the day – before registration – are welcome to come along, while the club’s existing players are also invited to attend. A fun filled day is guaranteed for all Girls & Boys aged 7-12 years. Girls are especially welcome to come and play.

Training for mini rugby (for children aged between six and 12 and born between 2000 and 2005) will take place from 10am until 11.15am, while youth rugby training (U-13, U-14, U-15 and U-16) will run from 11.30am until 12.30pm.

The open day will give boys and girls a chance to see if they would be interested in joining the club. This will be the only opportunity provided prior to registration, as only the players registered with the club will be insured to train from the following Saturday morning, September 17.

Colts Registration – The season officially gets underway on Saturday 17th September in Colts park. This season mini rugby will be catering for teams from Under 7 to Under 12. Training will be held every Saturday at the NEW TIME of 10am to 11.15am. Registration for mini and youth rugby takes place on Thursday 15th & Friday 16th September in the McWilliam Park Hotel from 7 to 9pm. ONLY registered players will be able to train with the club from Saturday, September 17. The cost for the new season will be €80 for one child, €150 for two children and €200 for three of more siblings.

The registration fee will include a black Colts fleece top. New players in the U-7 and U-8 categories however will receive a starter pack as part of their registration. This will include a boot bag, rugby ball and gum shield.

Girls Rugby – This year, Claremorris Colts RFC is looking for more girls to get involved in rugby. Girls born between 2000 and 2005 who may be interested will be invited to register on September 15 and 16. If there is sufficient interest, the club will run girls teams in the coming season. Junior Rugby – Claremorris RFC are also looking to start a male junior team(Over 19) this season. This will a social team that would compete in the Connacht league for the upcoming season. If you are interested in getting out and meeting people what better way to do it than by playing rugby. Training would commence at the end of September.
